Welcome to Palos Verdes, the hidden, rural, coastal gem of Los Angeles County!

The Palos Verdes Peninsula, or “PV” as lovingly called by locals, is a geographic sub-region of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, located in the South Bay region. It’s a collection of four affluent cities in the Palos Verde Hills— Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Rolling Hills Estates. To date, its population is at 78,796.

Homeowners flock over “The Hill” for its relaxed, low-key lifestyle. It possesses an idyllic climate and a close sense of community. Its vast, open spaces are zealously guarded against overdevelopment, and isolation from the urban mainstream is evident. And though it’s only 30 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles, most consider it an entirely different world.

Its four cities, each offering a different dash of local flavor to the mix, share a common denominator: the best coastal views in Los Angeles County, nestled against lush landscapes, rocks, mountains, cliffs, and slopes. This oasis of greenery features extensive horse trails, a lighthouse, ocean cliffs, tidepools, Eucalyptus trees, and nature walks.

Palos Verdes Estates – Palos Verdes Estates is a city that offers residents a “rural feel” with its big city convenience, which is the main reason why most retirees prefer to live in this city.

Rancho Palos Verdes– Rancho Palos Verdes is popular for its dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean, Santa Catalina Island, and Los Angeles and its highly-ranked public schools. Residents enjoy the city’s dense suburban feel.

Rolling Hills – Rolling Hills boasts 30 miles of riding trails and plenty of room for equine activity, which is why a piece of land in this area is highly sought after. With its ocean, city, and mountain views, Rolling Hills offers some of the most commanding vistas in all of Southern California and continues to draw lots of families over the years.

Rolling Hills Estates – Rolling Hills Estates possess an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, and a high rate of homeownership in predominantly single-family properties, which make it a good place for families to consider. Truly, a united community with many features to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.

Palos Verdes is home to spacious properties with expansive views. Visitors and home-buyer prospects alike flock to the peninsula for its hiking and equestrian trails, as well as its golf courses strategically located in various locations.

Don’t miss some of Palos Verdes’ iconic tourist spots like the Portuguese Bend, one of the largest natural spaces along the Ocean in Southern California, offering hiking and biking trails with unimaginable ocean views, or the Pointe Vicente Lighthouse, a haunted historic lighthouse built in 1926, which features well-kept trails and a chance to see the “Lady of the Light”, a famous ghost only seen on foggy nights.

Palos Verdes has its privacy well-maintained. For those who would like to see the hidden gem up close, the best time to visit PV is from mid-June to October.
